Day 3 - Masjid Cordoba

Hari ke-3 ekspedisi jejak rasul kami, kami telah ke Masjid Cordoba yang telah di transformkan menjadi church. Di pamplet di tulis ' The Cathedral Of Cordoba'. . Masih terdapat ciri-ciri masjid yang kemudiannya di tokok tambah oleh pemerintah yg kemudiannya menjadikannya gereja. tapi part2 yg patung2 tu aku x ambik gambar. Dan tak berapa nak tgk pon.

The land was bought by the Emir from the previous owners. It is believed that the site included the Visigothic cathedral of St. Vincent. When the forces of Tariq ibn-Ziyad first occupied Córdoba in 711, the Christian cathedral was suppressed.
Several explanations have been proposed to explain the mosque's unorthodox orientation. Some have suggested the mihrab faces south because the foundations of the mosque are borrowed from the old Roman and Visigoth constructions. Others contend that Abd ar-Rahman oriented the mihrab southward as if he were still in the Ummayyad capital of Damascus and not in exile.
The mosque underwent numerous subsequent changes: Abd ar-Rahman III ordered a new minaret, while Al-Hakam II, in 961, enlarged the plan of the building and enriched the mihrab. The last of the reforms was carried out by Al-Mansur Ibn Abi Aamir in 987.
It was the most magnificent of the more than 1,000 mosques in the city and was at one time the second largest mosque in the Muslim world. It was connected to the Caliph's palace by a raised walk-way. Mosques within the palaces being the tradition for the islamic rulers of all times.
The city in which it was built was subject to frequent invasion and each conquering wave added their own mark to the architecture. The building is most notable for its giant arches, with over 1,000 columns of jasper, onyx, marble, and granite. These were made from pieces of the Roman temple which had occupied the site previously, as well as other destroyed Roman buildings. The double arches, pictured above, were a new introduction to architecture, and helped support the tremendous weight of the higher ceilings. The double arches consist of a lower horseshoe arch and an upper semi-circular arch. The Mezquita also features richly gilded prayer niches. A centrally located honey-combed dome has beautiful blue tiles decorated with stars. The mihrab is a masterpiece of architectural art, with geometric and flowing designs of plants. The Mezquita reached its current dimensions in 987 A.D. with the completion of the outer naves and orange tree courtyard.
In 1236, Cordoba was recaptured from the Muslim army by King Ferdinand III of Castile and the mosque was reconsecrated a Christian church. Alfonso X oversaw the construction of the Villaviciosa Chapel and the Royal Chapel within the structure of the mosque. The kings who followed added further Christian features: Enrique II rebuilt the chapel in the 14th century.
The most significant alteration was the construction of a Renaissance cathedral nave in the middle of the structure. It was constructed by permission of Carlos V, king of united Spain. Its reversion to a Christian church (officially the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin) may have helped to preserve it when the Spanish Inquisition was most active.
Artisans and architects continued to add to the existing structure until the late 18th century.

Cuti-cuti Espana (6.3.2008 - 13.3.2008)

Day 1
11.00am - Bertolak dari rumah ke East Midland Airport (EMA)
03.50pm - Berlepas dr EMA ke Granada-Jaen Airport, Spain
07.20pm - Selamat sampai ke bumi Spain. Bermulalah pengembaraan kami selama 7 hari di bumi Sepanyol atau dalam Bahasa Melayunya 'Espana'
Ahli-ahli rombongan terdiri daripada:
Keluarga En Halim dan Puan Zuraida bersama 3 orang anak selaku ketua rombongan.
Keluarga En Jo dan Puan Zuraini bersama 4 org anak - sebagai ahli rombongan
Keluarga En Azizi dan Puan Zakiyah bersama 1 orang anak - juge sebagai ahli rombongan.
Setelah lbh kurang sebulan booking dan merancang akhirnya sampai juga kami ke bumi Spain. Yang dahulunya merupakan salah satu daripada bumi anbiya' ku kira. Tapi skarang tidak lagi. Pemergian kami kali ini ala2 jejak rasul jugak la..(keh keh keh  ) iaitu melawat tempat2 peninggalan Islam dahulu. itu yg syoknye..sbb pegi tpt2 lain sblm mcm Rome n Brugge..sangat banyak church. sini sana ada cross.
Sblm bercerita lebih lanjut, inginku ucapkan banyak2 terima kasih utk Kak Aida dan Abg Halim yang banyak meluangkan masa dan tenaga dan mcm2 ler termasuk mendahulukan duit mereka utk trip kami ini. dan thanks a lot juge utk perancangan yang menarik..dgn izin Allah semuanya berjalan lancar.
So pagi2 hari pertama, 6.3.2008 kami bertolak dari rumah ke East Midland Airport secara konvoi 3 buah kereta. Dalam hati suma berkobar2 nak pegi Spain.salah satunye kenapa.? sbb nak makan seafood.hahaha.. so kami bertolak dlm pukul 11 pagi.asalnya pukul 10.30 pg tapi org yg anak sorang tu lambat sangat..terlewat sikit.tp still dlm jadual lagi.spi kat airport kami solat jama' zuhur asar dulu, makan, dan kemudian check in..so masa tu kire ngam2 la.just nice! kami bertolak pukul 3.50ptg dan sampai 7.20mlm di airport Granada. masa tu dah gelap.waktu di Spain masa tu awl sejam dr waktu UK.
sampai kat sana kami disambut oleh George, iaitu tuan rumah yg akan kami sewa di Granada.org nye baik dan peramah dan sangat helpful. George org merupakan org Nottingham, UK tapi dia ada duduk kat Spain dah beberapa tahun. tapi still ulang alik Spain-UK..itu yg senangnya sbb dia blh cakap English. Selepas amik kereta sewa kami, George tunjuk jalan ke hotel Kak Zu and Abg Jo.derang booking asing sbb terlewat join kami. Lps tu dia bawak kami balik rumah yg bakal kami sewa. Lps explain itu ini kat kami..dia pon balik.dan kami pon memulakan aktiviti makan malam dan terus zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...utk perjalanan esoknya..
Day 2
Kami memulakan perjalanan ke Al-hambra. Perjalanan tak sampai sejam dr tempat penginapan kami.

Istana ni sangat cantik dgn ukiran-ukiran ayat suci Al-Quran yang masih kekal. Kawasan istana ni sgt besar, termasuk garden dia skali. Oleh kerana semua kepenatan dan kelaparan, kami tak sempat pon masuk Generalife. Lagipun hari dah petang dan masing2 ksejukan.

Snow - Part II

Lepas balik main snow kat Castleton tu rasanya cam serik dah main snow..rasa macam dah puas dah.lepas ni x nak main snow dah..tup tup di satu pagi yg hening...bangun pagi tengok ada snow kat luar..byk pulak tu..unexpected..sbb dalam weather forecast pun x de cakap snow. Bila nampak snow terus excited..ambik camera and snap sini sana..hahaha..
Kali ni snow halus sangat..sampai nampak cam berkabus jek. Tapi yg peliknye bukan satu sheffield di 'landa' snow' cuma area Tinsley, Meadowhall dan kawasan lain tatau la pulak.tapi Darnall yang bersebelahan dgn Tinsley pon tade snow..kat Casleton..pon x de kot.hehehe..Kat Tinsley banyak pulak tu..itu semua kuasa Allah Taala..
Kami pon mengambil kesempatan bergambar kat Tinsley Green. Park kat belakang rumah lama dulu...Harap jangan boring tengok gambar kami yea..Lps ni tade dah entry psl snow okey..hehehe..chow..!!

Snow @ Sheffield (2008 Edition) - Part 1

Ini adalah kali kedua snow turun utk winter kali ni.yang first time hari tu tak sempat ambik gambar. lagipun snow turun ciput aje time tu.kali ni agak tebal dan kebetulan hari Sabtu..so apa lagi, kami dan beberapa lagi family dari Tinsley bergegas pegi Castleton, Peak District utk ambik gambar..memandangkan ini mungkin snow kami yg terakhir..mebi utk thn depan x sempat main snow dah..main hujan dan berjemur panas plak kot kat...MALAYSIAAA!!!  insyaAllah..kami hanya merancang..
Walaupun lambat update,(coz new year kan..so a bit bz..nk closing account la apa la kan ) hope u guys enjoy viewing the pics..
Dalam sibuk2 kami excited nak main snow..ada sorang budak takut nak main snow rupenyer..siapa lagi kalau bukan Adam Danish.hiihihi..so dia x mo duduk langsung.kalo letak dia akan menangis.tgk lah aksi2 Adam Danish kesejukan main snow..tapi sayang kitorang x bawak slide pon.geng2 mat saleh datang siap bawak slide n sledge.so diorang enjoy main sbb kat situ kawasan berbukit. tapi sejukk woooo..i x tahan u!!! beku kaki 
Tengok la muke budak kecik tu...kena paksa pijak snow..hihihi..

Autumn @ Botanical Garden

Actually ini gamba beberapa minggu lepas.Bukan terrrr baru la kirenye. Punye la lama nak pegi Botanical Garden.Kononnye nak ambik gamba autumn.Since this is the last autumn for us, (mebi) kot2 la x sempat nak rasa autumn thn depan kan, akhirnye setelah beberapa minggu delay, dapat juge kami 'shooting' kat Botanical Garden.
Kali ni kami telah tersasar ke tempat yg kami belum pegi sblm ni.padahal dah pegi Botanical Garden sblm ni..ada la 2-3 kali kan. tapinye tak perasan ada kawasan sebelah 'sana' byk pokok2 dan ade rose garden. punye la summer hr tu pegi sana nak tgk rose tapi takde..rupenye tersorok kat belah 'sana'.hahaha.. Maka dengan itu kami pon berjalan..Danish pon jln.w/pn agak sejuk tapi dia dengan penuh semangat berjalan.siap naik bukit lagi. (bukit tu maksudnye jln yg agak tinggi rendah gitu..ala2 bukit kecik la). dan meredah daun2 luruh. Hasilnye, abis seluar kotor.
Tapi dia sangat gumbira.tgk squirrel, dan pigeon. Satu lagi dia dok kejar ada sorang budak mat saleh.lbh kureng sebaya dia..tapi budak tu takut.hahaha..
Setelah abis 'shooting' (tulis shooting sbb bwk tripod.agak poyos disitu ), kitorang pon nak balik lah.Setelah berjalan x jatuh2 adam danish..akhirnye dapat jugak sedikit 'hadiah' sblm balik. Dapat jugak cium jln batu.hihii..seb baik sket aje..x de kesan pon.Tapi anak mama big strong boy..so nanges sket je.lagi pon masa tu dah penat, setelah shooting dan makan biskut dengan banyaknye..okey guys..enjoice our piccas... 
Time ni dia sgt takut sbb mama tunjuk dia frog kat ujung kayu tu.nampak tak.hihihihihi....

Danish dan Biskut Raya

Hihihi..tak abis abis lagi entry raya.Gambar ni diambil pada hari raya ke-empat iaitu hari Isnin. Danish dok melepak2 kat rumah bersama Baba.Hari ni baba ponteng skolah.tak sedap perut katanya penangan beraya kuat sangat 3 hari lepas.
Skang ni Danish dah pandai makan biskut raya.Mama punye biskut mazola la dia punye favourite. Sbb almond london x bagi sangat dia makan.Nanti comot abis baju.Dah la susah nak gosok gigi. hihihi..so bagi biskut mazola.itu je pon biskut yg mama buat tahun ni. tengok lah gelagat Danish makan biskut raya.Habis satu mintak lagi..dan lagi dan lagi dan lagi..hihihihi...

Our 'Open House'

Oleh kerana kami beraya secara mengejut iaitu pada hari Jumaat, mama pon x prepare apa pada hari raya pertama.sbb dok ingat raya hari Sabtu cam kat M'sia.Tiba2 raya hari jumaat.kelam kabut di buatnye.dgn ayam nye tak beli.lauk lam peti ais tade apa.hahaha..kelakar betul. tp nasib baik baba balik kol 9 malam bawak balik 7kg chicken legs.nak buat satey.dia kate utk hari raya pertama. mama said no! kalo mlm ni nak buat sume benda besok pagi nak jadi satey..alamatnye x tido la mlm tu..so kami buat keputusan utk buat hari raya kedua.mlm raya pertama lps baba balik dari takbir raya (tradisi kami kat Tinsley sejak 2thn lps) kami start buang tulang ayam..ambik isi ayam dan potong kecik2 utk buat satey. last skali malam raya tido pukul 3pg. at least ada improvement dr 2 thn lps tido kol 4.30pagi.hehehe..
So raya kedua, menu kami satey, kuah kacang,nasi himpit, mihun tomyam, cheesecake dan air minum.itu saja..kecil-kecilan aje.
Bila mama dan baba sibuk buat open house,beraya,layan tetamu n masak sume, org yg paling sibuk dan paling letih skali ialah Adam Danish ler.Dia pon sibuk 'layan tetamu'.bila budak2 datang suka la dia.main sama la kononnya w/pn kadang2 dia buat hal sendiri. tumpang gembira katakan. dan paling best tgk Danish makan satey.pegang lidi satey penuh gaya berjalan kehulu ke hilir dgn sibuknya. mana taknye, ini la first time pegang lidi satey.hahaha.. Besoknye rumah pakcik Hazri danish menangis nak satey lagi sbb pakcik hazri buat satey limited edition.hahaha..sian danish.
Dan seperti kebiasaan pada tahun2 lepas...tetamu terakhir kami balik pada pukul 1.30am. dan pemenang pada tahun ini jatuh kepada ..jeng jeng jeng...Alif imran n family!!!!! hihihihi..syabbas! syabbas!! tahun depan sambut raya kat sini lagi ke? hmm itu tunggu dan lihat aje ler.

Assalamualaikum pembuka bicara.Setelah sekian lama tak berbicara kat sini akhirnya terupdate jugak fotopages ku ini.Maaf banyak2 pada semua.Semua2 komen korang aku baca cuma tak berkesempatan nak reply.Rasanya belum terlambat utk kami sekeluarga mengucapkan SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI MAAF ZAHIR DAN BATIN pada semua yang melihat fp ini.
